Pork chops may be one of the most difficult proteins to cook properly. It is quite easy to overcook and dry them out, especially lean chops. One way to remedy this is to braise the chops in a good amount of liquid on the stove. This is time consuming and can still overcook the chops and rob them of their natural pork flavor.

While I am still experimenting with several pork recipes in my air fryer, I am finding that this method of cooking pork chops is super easy and gives me some really good results without the excess fat and liquid that other cooking methods rely on. I am definitely a fan of cooking pork chops in an air fryer. The only problem I have is that as soon as I put the chops on the cutting board I want to dig in. I must resist so that all the juices don’t run out. Resting the meat is a very important step.

When you are cooking pork chops in an air fryer, have a digital meat thermometer ready to check the internal temperature of the meat. You are looking for approximately 150°F. When looking at air fryer pork chop recipes I have found that the cook times and temperature settings vary quite a bit. The recipes here are for an air fryer with a crisper plate. The crisper plate gets pretty hot, so my timing might be a little less than the timing of the air fryers that only have a basket. This is why you need a thermometer. Tweak the recipes as needed.

About the Recipes

Both recipes are for boneless pork loin chops. You could use bone-in chops. The thickness of the chops will make a difference in the timing.

The first recipe calls for pork chops that have been quickly marinated in a mustard and herb blend. These are then served with air fryer broccoli and mushrooms. The pork is juicy and infused with plenty of herbal flavor.

The second recipe is for a breaded pork chop that doesn’t require any marinating. The breading helps to keep the moisture in the chops. These chops are served with a creamy dipping sauce.

Directions:

1. Rinse the pork chops and dry them well with paper towels.

2. In a deep baking dish, whisk together the olive oil, white wine, and mustard. Stir in the garlic, rosemary, coriander, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine. Place the chops in the marinade and turn a few times to coat completely on all sides. Cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

3. Remove the pork from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Allow them to come to room temperature.

4. Set the air fryer to 350°F and 20 minutes. After 5 minutes, place the chops in the fryer. You can either layer these using the wire rack, or cook in batches if they don’t all fit. At 5 minutes, flip the chops over. Continue to cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the thickness, until the internal temperature reaches approximately 150°F.

5. Prepare the broccoli and mushrooms while the pork is cooking. In medium bowl, add the broccoli, mushrooms, and garlic. Pour over the olive oil. Season with salt. Toss all to coat evenly.

6. Remove the chops to a cutting board or serving platter and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.

7. While the chops are resting, add the broccoli and mushrooms to the air fryer and cook for approximately 5 minutes or until just starting to brown. Keep an eye on these.

8. Serve the pork on a large platter with the cooked broccoli and mushrooms.
